Makoto Tateno (Technology Development Center) received
the "IEC1906 Award" from the International Electrotechnical
Commission (IEC).
IEC is an international organization founded in 1906 to create
international standards in the field of electrical and electronic technologies.
The IEC1906 Award is given to experts who have made significant
contributions to the standardization of electrical technology and related
activities, and was established in 2004 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of
the founding of IEC.
Makoto Tateno has participated in the IEC since 1991, and among the
members of each country with different opinions, he has arranged international
standards while insisting on the circumstances of Japan and Asia, which are
different from those of Europe and the United States. This award was given in
recognition of our efforts to create an organization that involves a new
generation of young engineers in the rapidly changing technology field.
